Immerse yourself in the world of clay through a 3 to 6-month residency designed for ceramic artists
seeking time, space, and guidance to deepen their practice.
This residency offers the opportunity to engage with every aspect of claywork — from clay
preparation and making to firing techniques. It is created as a space for exploration, learning, and reflection,
allowing you to develop a more intuitive and personal connection with clay.
Located in the serene green belt of Auroville, the studio sits beside two other potteries and a
fellow ceramic artist’s studio. This unique environment encourages focused practice and creative growth, away
from the distractions of everyday life.
The program is best suited for individuals who already have foundational skills in working with
clay.
Residents are encouraged to pursue their own creative direction while gaining hands-on experience in
managing a working studio — including material handling, clay body preparation, and kiln firing.
Facilities include:
One kick wheel and one electric wheel
A gas kiln for firing
Space and support for exploring wheel-throwing, handbuilding (slab, coil), and sculpting
You will be supported in firing the pieces you create and are invited to experiment with different
techniques throughout your stay. This residency is a space to find your voice in clay and take your
practice deeper — both technically and artistically.
